Shoreham Academy year 7 football team fought their way to the district final after being 3-0 down with 17 minutes to play in the semi-final… then coming back to win 5-3 to secure their place in the final against a very successful Bohunt. Shoreham Academy started the game well but unfortunately conceded a goal 8 minutes into the game. This did not shake the boys, it in fact spurred them on even more and they were extremely unlucky not to score a goal in the first half due to Bohunt’s goalkeeper making some fantastic saves. The first half finished with Shoreham being 1-0 down. Shoreham Academy started the second half with a surge of energy and did not allow the opposition out of their own half and this resulted in 3 goals being scored within the first 10 minutes of the second half. Shoreham then maintained possession of the ball for long periods of time and this resulted in a 4th goal being scored with 12 minutes left to play. Shoreham continued to press high and create many goal scoring opportunities but once again the goalkeeper made some great saves. Then in injury time Bohunt broke through the defence and scored which caused the game to finish 4-2. Fantastic football played by both teams and a great final for those who played and for those who came to watch. Man of the match: Bradley Dolaghan
